IMHO: "Gorecki" is one of the most beautiful songs I've heard in my life. Ms. Rhodes has one of those voices that one can't forget. She pierces through your senses and affects your most intimate secrets. The way she sings is so affected that makes you want to plainly cry. That's how I feel every time I listen to "Gorecki" (titled after the Polish composer). I guess the term would be something like
emotionally naked or vulnerable. As a piece of trivia, Nicole Kidman sang the first verses of the song on the film "Moulin Rouge." End of the piece of trivia.
Lamb's first and self-titled album is a very risky and successful mix of her velvety emotional voice with wacky jungle-based electronic beats and sounds; totally innovative and refreshing. I think they hit the spot again with "What Sound", which has beautiful songs, but I don't care so much for the other two albums. This is totally off-topic, but I just saw the biggest centipede crawl up my wall, and it's nasty.
FAVOURITE SONGS: "Lusty", "Gorecki", "Gabriel", "Small", "Sugar 5."
FAVOURITE ALBUM: "Lamb", "What Sound."
WHAT OTHERS SAY: If you're in love, please read these lyrics and feel vulnerable. If you're not in love, read them and feel distressed. And if you're in between relationships, please come to my house and help me get rid of this gigantic centipede.
"If I should die this very moment
I wouldn’t fear
For I’ve never known completeness
Like being here
Wrapped in the warmth of you
Loving every breath of you
Steal my heart this moment
Or it might burst
Could we stay right here
Until the end of time until the earth stops turning
Wanna love you until the seas run dry
I’ve found the one I’ve waited for..."
